Specialist disability accommodation (or SDA) makes it possible for people with disabilities who require modifications to their home to be accommodated, to ensure they feel comfortable and better supported with their daily living. SDA is a specialist housing solution that is architecturally designed and custom-built to improve the wellbeing of people with disabilities, with all the benefits of privacy and on-site support.
At Bridges Alliance, we have established long-lasting partnerships with leading national SDA providers, who can tailor innovative housing solutions and accommodation options to suit all of our clients who meet SDA eligibility criteria, in a wide variety of geographical locations.
What is specialist disability accommodation?
At Bridges Alliance, we partner with registered Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) providers, Casa Capace. They build SDA homes based on your personal requirements, and possess the facilities, equipment and professional staff to cater to a variety of people with disabilities who need modified accommodation across NSW.
Many of our properties can be built with unique features, including lifts, specialised equipment, smooth surfaces and ceiling hoists. As part of our SDA services, we can match you with a highly trained and experienced support worker who understands you or your loved one’s disability needs.
With Bridges Alliance, you’re guaranteed:
Range of living options
We find you homes that feature a variety of different environments such as rural, suburban and coastal living.
Home features selected by you
You provide input into the personal design features and specialist equipment that you require, and we tailor it into your new home design.

We’ll find a home designed specifically to promote independent living with professional on-site support available when you need it.
Social and recreational spaces
We find homes built to promote a social, healthy and happy lifestyle.
Under the NDIS, you may be eligible to receive funding for specialist accommodation solutions which cater to your individual care needs. The subsequent funding (SDA) is designed to facilitate the development of new housing for significant impairment and disabilities. As with all supports, the NDIS will assess whether or not SDA is necessary for you to lead a healthy, independent lifestyle.
For you to be approved for SDA funding, you must already have a housing goal written into your current NDIS plan. If your plan does not have a housing goal, clients are required to request a plan review to have this added.
Our support coordinators and team of allied health professionals can help you through the request for funding, put together an application, assess your disability and put together a housing plan with you. From there, evidence will be gathered to indicate that SDA is necessary to improve your way of living, and submit your application to the NDIS on your behalf.
Contact our experienced team today and we can assist you to see if you qualify for specialist disability accommodation.
If you’re ineligible for SDA funding, Bridges Alliances has other NDIS supported accommodation services that we can provide to you that best meets your disability requirements.
